The medieval world view of the stars was one where we were the centre and were bounded by layers of Spheres- planets and stars with the outer layer being heaven. These spheres were meant to have pwerful influence on us. This narcissistic view of the world was debunked by Galileo, but in this sculpture I take some of the imagery of that idea and reference that early view point to depict a version of those old ideas in a different way. We usuallly are the centre of our own universe and what are the speheres of influence?
